Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved...... William Jennings Bryan

Every child, everyday.....whatever it takes!
Dr. Linda Shifflette, Superintendent of Hampton City School

I am excited about the 2010-2011 school year. I challenge my students to perform your very best as we begin the second semester. I extend the opportunity for students to stay after school to receive help, make up assignments, or discuss anything school related or personal. I have an open door policy. I do ask that you let me know if you are going to stay after school so I can prepare accordingly for you. Again good luck and please do your best this school year.

Please visit this webpage and the textbook website often to check for announcements, fun photos, class assignments, deadline reminders, study for tests and quizzes, and plan for school related events. I am positive that we will have a great school year!

Below you will find a video from a young man who beat obstacles and challenges in his life. He set goals to achieve success! You too can set high goals for yourself in life and will achieve success in  your effort.

Please utilize the Life Skills and Independent Living individual pages to familiarize yourself with the class. I have provided you with an introduction page which will highlight the class that you are enrolled in with me, a monthly schedule page to help you keep up with what we are doing in class at all times, an assignment page that will provide you with various assignments, project rubrics, quizzes, tests, and extra credit opportunities, and a fun page to provide you with some humor in between assignments. There is no excuse for falling behind. Remember there are resources all around you, so use them to your advantage.
